Anguilla: the Caribbean playground of the super-wealthy

The Caribbean island of Anguilla is fast gaining a reputation as the place to holiday for the business and showbiz elite. Famous for its welcoming locals and low crime rate, Anguilla is all about quiet luxury.

Stunning sandy beaches and crystal clear waters are among the more obvious attractions of Anguilla, but super-wealthy business moguls who frequent the island also appreciate the privacy a stay here affords. The property includes several penthouses which will be sold for around $3 million each. The natural beauty of the island is readily apparent, with its beaches considered among the finest and most beautiful in all of the Caribbean. Anguilla is surrounded by coral reefs of ecological importance, as well as many beaches and cays which are home to varied and vulnerable wildlife. Those involved in developing Anguilla as one of the world's most desirable holiday destinations believe part of its appeal lies in the fact that care is taken to ensure sustainable growth. Responsible development is practised on the island with local materials and eco-friendly techniques used extensively.
